Painted as a tribute to the men and women who step forward when others need help most.
There is something deeply powerful about watching a firefighter disappear into smoke — moving towards danger while everyone else is moving away. Through loose washes, layered textures and a restrained palette, I wanted to capture not only the atmosphere of a fire, but the courage, uncertainty and quiet determination behind the uniform.

Having a close connection to the fire brigade, I have a personal appreciation for the work these crews do. It is demanding, dangerous and often carried out without the recognition it deserves.

Into the Smoke is my small tribute to those who answer the call — and keep going, even when they cannot see what lies ahead.
