The Wave

Painted around the time of my father’s passing, The Wave became an unexpected expression of grief.
The crashing Atlantic sea, turbulent skies and restless movement became a place to put emotions that were difficult to express in words. The waves carry a sense of force and turmoil, but also of release — a reminder that even the wildest waters eventually find their calm.
Inspired by the dramatic coastline of Ardmore Beach, this piece is deeply personal. It is a painting about loss, love and the powerful movement of grief.
