The Wave

A dramatic wave from a beach in Ardmore, Co. Waterford. I painted this a few years back, It marks for me a turning point in my life. It was painted with emotion and with feelings, this canvas was my therapy.

My Dad made me this canvas when I was in college, and I never knew what to paint on it !! It was perfect as I had lost my Dad a few years prior and this piece was painted with him in mind.

So, one day I drove to Ardmore to the beach to go for a walk and seek some solitude. But our Irish weather never works out the way we plan, and as we say it was rough out. So with a coffee I sit back and watch the waves crash in. That is how "The Wave" was born.
