"Woodland Walk"

Inspired by the woodland walks around "The Towers" outside Lismore and Glenshelane Woods, Cappoquin, "Woodland Walk" captures the quiet beauty and changing character of the Irish countryside.
Using loose, expressive watercolour washes, warm autumnal tones and spontaneous marks, I wanted to evoke the feeling of wandering beneath the trees — the filtered light, fallen leaves and earthy colours underfoot.
Rather than painting every detail, I’ve allowed the watercolour to flow and suggest the woodland, creating a piece that feels quiet, familiar and slightly dreamlike.
A little piece of the woods, inspired by walks close to home.
